Vacancy for a Parish Councillor
Published: 22 July 2025
Following the resignation of a Parish Councillor, Ewshot Parish Council is on the look out for a new councillor.
The role of councillor is very varied and councillors play a vital role in representing the interests of residents, shaping local services and helping make decisions on issues that matter – from planning applications and community projects to local services and events. You will need to be available to attend monthly meetings (usually the second Monday of the month at 7pm in the Village Hall).
No experience is needed – just enthusiasm and a commitment to your community!
To get an idea of the things that are discussed at meetings and the projects we are working on please have a look at the minutes of recent meetings.
We would particularly like to hear from anyone with a keen interest in planning matters as we are consultee on all planning applications for the village. Full training can be provided. We would also like to hear from people living across the village (not just the centre of the village) – if you’re not sure if you live within the parish boundary get in touch and we can check!
Further details regarding the role of a councillor and how to apply can be obtained by contacting the Clerk Alison Ball, clerk@ewshotpc.com
Applications should be submitted by 1 September so that councillors can review all applications at the meeting of Ewshot Parish Council on 8 September. Each applicant will be considered based on skill, location and relevant experience. The current members of the Parish Council will vote to determine whether each applicant has been successful or not. There is currently only one space that needs to be filled.
